Police Dispatcher

Police Dispatch work requires the operation of two way radio, telephones, and telecommunications equipment. Work involves critical decision making skills, relaying orders and information to and from police personnel, managing radio traffic, and ability to handle stressful situations.   

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be fluent in English and Spanish
• United States Citizen
• High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED)
• No Felony Convictions or Misdemeanor Involving Perjury or False Statement (Per Florida Statute 943.13)
• Must be computer literate with direct knowledge of Microsoft Word and other similar processing programs
• Type at least 30 words per minute
• Ability to multi-task
• Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
• Pass Polygraph Examination
• Pass Medical and Drug Screening
