PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road from

East of NW 107 Avenue to east of NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin the second of five Okeechobee Road Reconstruction Projects the week of May 2, 2022. Segment Two extends along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road from east of NW 107 Avenue to east of NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard, in Miami-Dade County. This segment is anticipated for completion early 2026 and estimated to cost $105.6 million.        

The Public Meeting will be held both in-person and virtually starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

The meeting will consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. Questions will be responded to as time permits, in the order received. If your question is not responded to during the event, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting.

This project is part of the corridorwide reconstruction of the SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road from the Broward County Line to SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. This work will improve safety, enhance mobility along this Strategic Intermodal Systems (SIS) corridor, and inspire innovative transportation solutions, connecting commuters throughout Miami-Dade County.

To complete this project safely, construction will be done in phases. During phase one, work will take place along southbound and northbound NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard, Frontage Road and NW S River Drive; phase two, the construction of the second level overpass including four new bridges and access ramps; phase three, the installation of concrete pavement, repaving and restriping and pavement markings on the roadway. The Department will make sure that traffic continues to flow safely through the work zone.
